This is a work by Tadao Akutsu, a ceramic artist who works in Mashiko Town, Tochigi Prefecture.
This color, named ”Ruri-iro” (lapis lazuli blue), is created by combining gosu and a transparent glaze. The glossy lapis lazuli color shows a deep gradation depending on how the light hits it.
