This piece is a Mashiko ware sake pourer—a traditional spouted vessel used for serving Japanese sake. It is crafted by Mashiko-based ceramic artist Mayuko Itabashi of Itabashi Kiln.
The pourer features Mashiko’s classic Nukajiro glaze, known for its soft, milky white tone. Over this base, a deep green glaze with fine, delicate crackle patterns has been applied, creating a rich and expressive surface. The interplay of these glazes gives the piece a warm, organic character that is unique to Mashiko ware.
