Mashiko ware sake cup, milky white (Shigaraki clay)

This is a Mashiko ware sake cup.

This is a work by Mashiko town ceramic artist Mayuko Itabashi (Itabashi Kiln).

The traditional Mashiko nukajiro glaze is used for the ware, giving it a beautiful milky white color, and is topped with a deep green glaze with beautiful crazing, making it a piece of pottery with a deep flavor.

The clay used is whitish Shigaraki clay.
