This work is by Tadao Akutsu, a ceramic artist who works in Mashiko Town, Tochigi Prefecture.
This color, named Aosabi-iro (blue rust color), is created by combining gosu and opaque glaze. It features the simple atmosphere of Mashiko clay and the beautiful gradation of the patterns made on the potter's wheel.
