Mashiko ware deep plate, milky white

A deep Mashiko ware plate. It has a raised edge so it can also be used as a bowl.

This work is by ceramic artist Nobuyuki Ishioka, who creates pottery in Mashiko Town.

It uses the warm earthen color and soft milky white glaze that are unique to Mashiko ware, giving it a simple, calm, yet sophisticated impression.
