This tea canister is made by Yatsuyanagi, a company that has been making birch crafts in Kakunodate, Senboku City, Akita Prefecture since 1876.
Kabazaiku is a unique craft made using wild cherry tree bark, and is a precious product that is only produced in Kakunodate, Japan. The more you use it, the deeper the color and luster will become, allowing you to enjoy the changes that occur over time. Wild cherry bark has moisture-retaining and antibacterial properties, which help keep the humidity inside the tube low and constant, allowing you to store tea, coffee, and other beverages in a natural environment.
The wild cherry bark has been carefully polished by artisans, giving it a beautiful natural luster, and when you hold it in your hand you can feel the natural warmth of the wood.
