Mashiko ware deep plates also go well with Italian regional cuisine!

I served Italian local dish Orecchiette con Cima di Rapa on a Mashiko ware dish. This deep dish is made by Ishioka Nobuyuki, a potter in Mashiko town, and has just the right amount of rise, making it very easy to handle even dishes with a little liquid like this.

Orecchiette con cima di rapa is a dish made by stewing Italian orecchiette, a type of pasta shaped like an ear, with cima di rapa, a rapeseed-like vegetable grown in the Puglia region. It is easy to make and very delicious.

You can purchase the deep dish here.
